The Got Ink Tattoo Contest is presented by American Tattoo Society.

How to enter

  • Entries will be accepted through November 12, 2019.
  • Valid entries will include a completed application (.pdf) and a photograph of the tattoo.
  • Email both the application (.pdf) and a photograph of the tattoo to usarmy.bragg.imcom-fmwrc.mbx.marketing@mail.mil.
  • Please select the category you would like your tattoo to be considered (Patriotic, Realism, Color, Black and Grey, Traditional or Other). American Tattoo Society and the Got Ink judges will do a final review prior to the event date to determine the final category of your entry.
  • Limit of 2 submissions per person.
  • Fort Bragg Family & MWR and American Tattoo Society reserve the right to publish these photographs for promotional and for documentation purposes.
Categories
  • Patriotic
    Tattoo must express devotion to and vigorous support for one's country.
  • Realism
    Can be flowers, animals, buildings, cars, etc.
  • Color
    Vivid color palette throughout the tattoo.
  • Black and Grey
    All black and grey tattoos must be black, grey and may have shades of white. 
  • Traditional
    Tattoos done in the Old Style Traditional Tattoos of 1960’s or earlier. Doesn’t have to be old, just a tattoo done in the Old Traditional Style.
  • Other
    Tattoos that don't fit into any of the above categories.
Prizes
  • 2nd-5th place for each category:
    $100 gift card to American Tattoo Society
  • 1st place in each category:
    2 VIP passes to the All American Tattoo Convention
  • Grand Prize:
    3 day, 2 night cruise

Tattoo artwork guidelines
  • All submitted tattoos must be in compliance with AR 670-1 paragraph 3.3.
    • No extremist, indecent, sexist, or racist tattoos will be accepted. 
    • No head, facial, neck, wrist, hand, buttocks, breast, or genitals will be accepted.
  • For each category,  the tattoo may be of any size BUT if the tattoo you're entering connects to another tattoo that does not fit the category you must either wear something to hide the rest of it or tape off the area that’s not in the category.
  • Tattoos must be complete to enter.
Judging
  • All judges are impartial and unbiased.

  • All entries are considered fairly and equally upon their own merit.

  • Judging is based solely on the technical and artistic qualities of each tattoo.

  • Scoring will be done on a 1-10 scale, based on the overall appearance of the tattoo.

    • Originality, lines, coloring, shading, overall design, flow and movement of the tattoo will all be considered for scoring.

    • In the event of a tie between tattoos, they will be re-judged.

  • Live judging will take place at 7 p.m. on November 15, 2019 at McKellar's Lodge by nationally recognized tattoo artists.
