Family and MWR facility and program COVID-19 updates

All Fort Bragg Family & MWR facilities (including physical fitness centers and pools) and programs are closed with the exception of the following facilities/programs listed below.

Please note that all locations will adhere to social distancing. Beginning on May 27, 2020, groups of 10 or less people for indoor facilities and groups of 25 or less people for outside facilities/activities will be enforced. Facial coverings are required when social distancing cannot be maintained.

Social & Dining:

The following Family and MWR restaurants are open for takeout orders only:

Recreation/Outdoor Recreation:

Please note that the limit will be raised from 10 people to a maximum of 25 people for outdoor activities, effective May 27, 2020. You will still need to follow good practices (social distancing and face coverings where applicable); this applies to Clay Target Center, Cleland Inline Rink and Skateboard Park, Smith Lake and all parks.

  • The Rod and Gun Club is open. For hours of operation and contact information, visit Rod and Gun Club.
  • Stryker Golf Course and Ryder Golf Course are open for play (no tournaments or large gatherings).
  • Clay Target Center is open with the following hours (please note that these hours are different than normal operating hours): 

    • Wed: 1200-2000
    • Thurs: 1200 -2000
    • Friday: 1000-1800
    • Saturday: 1000-1800
    • Sunday: 1000-1800
    • Monday and Tuesday: Closed
  • Recreation Equipment Checkout Center is open for rental of limited items. No rentals of food related, costumes and headwear equipment. Equipment Checkout Center will be open:
    • Monday 7 am to 5 pm
    • Tuesday 8 am to 5 pm
    • Wednesday: 9 am to 1 pm
    • Thursday 8 am to 5 pm 
    • Friday: 8 am to 6 pm
    • Saturday: 9 am to 1 pm

  • Smith Lake Recreation Area
    • Smith Lake RV Campsite – must use your own RV restroom and maintain social distancing. We are currently not taking any new RV or cabin reservations with exception of Military Families in a PCS Status. Smith Lake Beach remains closed.
    • The hiking and biking trails at Smith Lake are open dawn to dusk daily. ATVs and Dirt Bikes are NOT (and have never been) authorized in the Smith Lake Recreation Area. 
    • Smith Lake Park is open dawn to dusk daily.
    • Restrooms closed.
  • All parks (Smith Lake Park, Wilson Park, Flightline Park, Woodland Park) open dawn to dusk daily. No park/pavilion reservations. Restrooms closed.
  • Sports Fields (Hedrick Stadium, Towle Stadium and Polo Field) open dawn to dusk daily. No park/pavilion reservations. Restrooms closed.
  • Softball Fields (Ritz-Epps, Hercules, Pike, Bowley, Ruth and MLB) open dawn to dusk daily. No park/pavilion reservations. Restrooms closed.
  • Cleland Inline Rink and Skateboard Park open 10 am to 8 pm daily.  Cleland Ice Rink remains closed. Restrooms closed.
  • Warrior Adventure Quest will be available for limited services. Restrooms closed.

Auto Skills:

  • North Bragg Auto Skills and East Bragg Auto Skills Centers: Scheduled to re-open on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 with reduced capacity on group sizes of 10 or less people indoors. Face coverings and social distancing will be required.  

BOSS:

  • Open for meetings not to exceed 10 people indoors; no excursions allowed during Phase 2.

Child & Youth Services (CYS):

  • In support of mission readiness, all Fort Bragg Child and Youth Services locations are open for currently registered families. Please note Families who require child care but are not already registered must first register at CYS Parent Central Services. Additional childcare spaces are very limited and new registrants will be placed subject to space availability.
    • Child Development Centers will be open 5:30 am to 6 pm.  

    • School Age Centers will be operating on summer hours of 5:30 am to 6 pm.  

    • Youth Centers (Middle School and Teen) will be operating on summer hours of 6:30 am to 7 pm.

    • For School Age Centers, please know that our staff are not teachers and are not going to force the children to do their homework.  Times and locations will be set for them to be able to do school work on their school assigned devices in a quiet location.  If you have any questions about your child’s specific needs, please speak with the Center Director.

    • Child and Youth Services has implemented various procedures for the health and safety of our children and our staff to include social distancing markers in common areas and all staff wearing facial coverings.  All individuals who pick up and drop off children at any CYS location will be required to wear a facial covering. 

Army Community Services (ACS):

  • Army Community Services is available on a remote basis. Please call (910) 396-8682/8683. 
    • Army Emergency Relief (AER) and Family Advocacy Program (FAP) are operating by appointments only.
      • AER - (910) 396-2507 or (910) 303-0174, after 1700 and on weekends, call Red Cross 1-877-272-7337.
      • FAP - (910) 396-8682/8683. Victim Advocacy 24/7 hotline, call (910) 322-3418. 
    • MFLCs (Military and Family LIfe Counselors) now provide telehealth services. Click here to view contact information.

Tickets/Travel:

  • Leisure Travel Services is open Monday-Friday 10 am - 5 pm. For questions, please call 910-396-8747/8687. 
    • Walt Disney World theme parks and Disney Resorts:
      Disney Parks and Resorts (California and Florida) are currently closed and a reopening date has not yet been identified.  Military Salute Tickets purchased prior to March 11, 2020, may be used once the parks reopen up until December 18, 2020. If you are unable to visit by December 18, you may apply the value of a wholly unused ticket towards the purchase of a ticket for a future date. If you do not choose the future ticket option, you can bring your ticket vouchers to Leisure Travel Services to request a refund of the tickets through Disney and once approved by Disney a refund will be provided.
      >>> Military Salute Tickets purchased after 12 March will expire 18 December and will NOT be authorized any refunds, exchanges or returns for any reason. <<<

    • Universal Studios, City Walk and Blue Man Group:
      Parks are closed at least through May 31st which includes the theme park and resorts hotels. Unexpired single and multi-day tickets which have already been purchased are valid for the first use for up 365 days from purchase, but must be used within seven days of first use. If you cannot travel during this time, you can apply the value of a wholly unused ticket toward a new purchase. Military Salute tickets may be refundable if purchased prior to the park closure. Resort hotel guests can modify or cancel room and package reservations held for the closure period with no penalty or fee. During the park closure period, cancellation fees will be waived for hotel reservations cancelled prior to 24 hours of arrival. Blue Man Group shows through at least May 31st are cancelled. Guests who have purchased tickets for Blue Man Group shows during this time can call 407-258-3626.

    • Seaworld/Busch Gardens:
      All Seaworld and Busch Gardens theme parks remain temporarily closed with no projected opening dates.

    • Carowinds/Kings Dominion: 
      Carowinds is temporarily closed. No projected opening dates. 2020 Season passes have been extended into 2021.

    • Cruises:
      On April 9, 2020, the CDC renewed the “No Sail Order” through July 24 at the earliest.  Cruise refunds are taking approximately 60 - 90 days to process due to the high volume of refunds each cruise line is handling. If it has been over 90 days and you still have not received your refund please contact Leisure Travel Services and we will follow up with the cruise line.

    • Air Travel:
      Current Airline reservations can be modified to a future date without a change fee. Cancellation fees may occur if a passenger cancels a flight prior to the airline determining that the flight is going to be cancelled. If the airline calls you directly prior to your flight and offers a change or refund, we would recommend accepting it. Contract your travel agent or airline for more information.

Arts & Crafts:

Library:

  • The computer lab at Throckmorton Library is open for Active Duty and first responders only. If service member is not in uniform, you will be asked to verify your Active Duty status with documentation or ID card.

    A laminated card distribution system will be implemented in order to maintain social distancing guidelines allowing no more than 25 Soldiers at one time in the Computer Lab for a one hour time slot. A system of distributing laminated cards with time slots will be implemented at the front door. The first 25 in line would be given a number for one hour use on a computer (9:00 to 10:00 a.m.). Between 10:01 to 10:29 a.m. the computers, seats, desk and chairs of used computers will be sanitized and cleaned by staff. 

    The next set of 25 people in line get the next set of laminated cards for the next hour use on a computer (10:30 to 11:30 a.m.) Again, there will be a 28 minute gap in between sessions to allow for cleaning of the systems.

    This format would continue with usage times as follows:

    • Monday to Thursday: 
      • 9:00 - 10:00 a.m.
      • 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.
      • 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.
      • 1:30 - 2:30 p.m.
      • 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
      • 4:30 - 5:30 p.m.
      • 5:40 - 6:40 p.m.
    • Friday:
      • 9:00 - 10:00 a.m.
      • 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.
      • 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.
      • 1:30 - 2:30 p.m.
      • 2:40 - 3:40 p.m.
    • Saturday:
      • 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.
      • 1:30 - 2:30 p.m.
      • 2:40 - 3:40 p.m.

If someone shows up after the last time slot as indicated above, they will be given a 9:00 a.m. (12:00 p.m. on Saturday) time slot for the following day of business.

  • Printing and copies: 

    • Exact coins need to be used for printing (10 cents per page). The library does not have change.
    • The print machine will not accept bills larger than $1.00. Social distancing at the printer will be enforced.
    • Library Staff will make copies. Exact change is required (15 cents per page). 
  • Returning checked out materials to the library:

    • All checked out materials are due back on June 30, 2020; please do not try and return them before this date.

The following events have been cancelled:

  • All Group Fitness Classes have been cancelled until further notice.

The following events/programs have been postponed:

  • May 4-Aug 3  Commander's Cup Softball League/Tournament; new date TBD
  • May 8-July 17  2020 Women’s Softball League/Tournament; new date TBD
