Program: Outdoor Recreation Adventures 

Calling all nature lovers and curious explorers! Let Outdoor Recreation Adventures & Excursions be your ride as we take a trip to the North Carolina Museums of Natural Sciences' largest and buggiest event, BugFest!

This event educates and engages the public in science and the natural world. This Year's theme is hoppers - plant, leaf and tree! Learn about the fascinating world of anthropods at over 10 exhibits, crafts, games, and activities. Engage with entomologists and other scientists about all things anthropod, or taste some buggy culinary creations at the Cafe Insecta. There's something to amaze every age. 

So, come discover the tiny creatures that keep our world buzzing!

Cost/ Registration: $15 per person. Register at the Equipment Checkout Center, deadline to register September 11, 2026. Open to DoW ID cardholders of all ages.

Pick up/Drop off: BOSS Headquarters located off of Gruber Rd near the All American Hwy overpass.
